Homecoming of the Boat

Jamey has two sailboats that, until recently, resided at his parents' house in San Antonio. Over the Christmas break we brought the smaller boat home to Houston, and it turned out to be quite the adventure.

On the way home the tire on the boat's trailer blew out, so Jamey had to sit by the side of the busy freeway in the dark, changing the tire with the wrong size of tire jack. Then the spare tire blew out a few miles down the road, and we were officially out of tires!

So we had to drop the boat by the side of the road. We hoped it would be safe while we drove down the road about 20 miles and stayed the night in the lovely town of Sealy. The next morning we got a new tire, then went back to the boat (which was right where we left it), replaced the tire, and finally took it home to La Porte.

The next week we had to clean out the garage, which was a whole other adventure...

But we got it done, and now we're happy to have the boat in the garage, waiting for us to take it out on the water.
